Each month, Cat Mate 002 (Bootsey) & Us round-up a bunch of trailers we might want to see. As the dumb blockbusters clog movie arteries, we look for smaller, oddball films. Pickens so Slim they ride down a Nuke into Russia.
What looks interesting?
No.
Pinocchio Unstrung: Most of the public domain characters turned horror movies look boring. We remember Steamboat Willie, but Popeye? Pass. Looks like wooden animated puppet version of Megan.
Barrio Triste: Put on list because we saw Hamonie Korrine’s name on it. Not our thing.
Gangland: Lou Diamond Phillips’s a rez cop solving a rez crime. Unless we hear something more interesting, we’ll pass.
The Kidnapping of Arabella: Possibly a maybe, Chris Pine takes in a Mexican girl in this comedy (?).
Motor City: Visually interesting trailer for a generic prisoner bent-on-vengeance film.
Terrestrial: Nice shock at the beginning of this critter-attack movie trailer. Otherwise, looked average at best.
Maybe.
Her Private Hell: Sophie Tucker (Yellowjackets) in the new Nicolas Winding Refn movie. Moody, kinda vague trailer. We like that.
Night Nurse: A guy makes women his sex slaves in a mood-shifting trailer. Thriller.
The Invite: Olivia Wilde directs & stars in this couple wife-swap movie. Edward Norton, Seth Rogan, Penelope Cruz round out the heavy-hitters. Our guess, each couple ends up staying together. The end of this type of comedy.
Speaking of Olivia Wilde, there’s two movies that are extremely hard R sex-forward on the list. Honestly, movies today, even hard R, rarely are sex-centered. The Fiesta 13 misses extremely inappropriate sex comedies.
I Want Your Sex: Olivia Wilde makes Phillip Seymore Hoffman’s kid her sex slave with increasingly crazy sex. Comedy.
Blowie: New Plot Discovery! A man shrink-wrapped in latex to create a sex-doll model dies from choking on lube. A sex-doll murder story. Haven’t seen that. Either highly entertaining or total crap. Feels like a coin-flip.
Yes.
Evil Dead Burn: We’ve seen every early Evil Dead and the reboot in the theater for the first time. We haven’t seen the last one. We’ll watch that first & head to the theater.
Gail Daughtry & The Celebrity Sex Pass: Read the title & thought, we’ve seen Hall Pass. Then saw guys from The State are behind the film. Wet Hot American Summer is a fave, so we’re in. Plus, the lead is on a quest to have sex with Jon Hamm, great choice. We’ll root for that. John Slattery also plays himself. Funny trailer. A rental.
Which Movie Would You Watch?
The monthly The Fiesta 13 trailer reel is currently sponsored by Crok AI (Artificially Intelligent).
We hate Crok AI with the passion of a million kilowatt Klieg light.
Bootsey pooped on the new Crok ad in protest. So, here’s an old one:
